My approach to the arts began in my childhood with the study of piano and fine arts. As a teenager I got involved in theater and in that context I discovered scenography and stage production which ended up shaping the worldview of my “artist self.” I studied architecture and for a short time I worked as a set designer and later I found my passion for cultural management, an area in which I discovered my vocation as an administrator, maker, creator, executor and organizer, which would ultimately serve as a foundation for structuring my career. of artist.
After a few years of resistance, I returned to the plastic arts and immersed myself in the study of the popular arts of Mexico, as well as the analysis of the uses and customs of various indigenous peoples, focusing my interest on the visual aesthetics of their crafts, clothing, as well as as well as its spiritual worldview and its symbolism, at the same time that my passion for modern architecture and industrial, textile, furniture and automotive design gave life to a peculiar way of seeing art.
My work is the reflection of all of the above, it is the encounter of possibilities, the consequence of my desire to amalgamate concepts and styles that are antagonistic to each other and of my interest in everything that does not have to be explained but rather felt, it is the encounter of the indigenous. with the modern, the ancestral and the present, the abstract imagination with spatial formality, they are the celebration of my own meaning of being myself.
Mi acercamiento a las artes comienza en mi infancia con el estudio del piano y artes plásticas. En la adolescencia me involucré en el teatro y en ese contexto descubrí la escenografía y producción escénica las cuales terminaron de moldear la cosmovisión de mi “yo artista”. Estudie arquitectura y durante un breve tiempo me desempeñé como escenógrafo y posteriormente encontré mi pasión por la gestión cultural ámbito en el que descubrí mi vocación como administrador, hacedor, creador, ejecutor y organizador lo que a la postre me serviría como cimiento para estructurar mi carrera de artista.
Después de algunos años de resistencia retomé las artes plásticas y me sumergí en el estudio de las artes populares de México, así como del análisis de los usos y costumbres de diversos Pueblos indígenas enfocando mi interés en la estética visual de sus artesanías, vestimentas, así como de su cosmovisión espiritual y sus simbolismos, al mismo tiempo que mi pasión por la arquitectura moderna y el diseño industrial, textil, mobiliario y automotriz dieron vida a una forma peculiar de ver el arte.
Mi obra es el reflejo de todo lo anterior, es el encuentro de posibilidades, la consecuencia de mi deseo por amalgamar conceptos y estilos antagónicos entre sí y de mi interés por todo aquello que no tenga que explicarse sino sentirse, es el encuentro de lo autóctono con lo moderno, de lo ancestral y el presente, del imaginario abstracto con la formalidad espacial, son la celebración de mi propio significado de ser quien soy.
